![]() ![]() Your mobility and the amount of versatility in your kit allows you to pull off some amazing plays. Lastly, Ekko just has an massive amount of outplay potential. Objective stealing is also easy due to Ekko's Z-Drive Resonance not having a cap so proccing your passive and Smite allows you to consistently do 1500+ damage to objectives mid to late game while also being able to Chronobreak out to safety immediately after. Ekko's skirmish power is also fairly good, if you can land your Parallel Convergence on multiple targets it can turn a fight extremely quick. Your ultimate almost guarantees that you survive no matter how bad you misplay it. Ekko starts to become a one shot machine especially after Nashor's Tooth or Hextech Rocketbelt and a few Dark Seal stacks. You also snowball extremely hard being able to absolutely run over games if you get a few kills under your belt. I put this matchup as a 3 in low elo because Yi will always find a kill somewhere but in Plat+ its definitely a 2 matchup as people start to learn how to play around him.Īlthough Ekko is a scaling champ and relies on gold to do damage, you still have pretty good gank potential early after level 3. Care for Master Yi counterganks after 6 though, Yi is amazing at cleaning up low health enemies because of his R and Q resets. You need to be proactive on the map though because Yi turns into a monster mid and late game if your team doesn't know how to play around him or lacks reliable CC. He will end up either burning flash to escape it, get stunned and you can kill him or proc passive on him and run away. If Yi uses his alpha strike to gap close onto you then immediately lay your W down and play on it. Many low elo Yi players will waste their Q. The nuance to fighting to Yi early is playing around your W. If they take ignite then definitely avoid fighting him early without help. Yi is still a threat in a 1v1 early on though. You can keep whoever comes to catch the wave from moving to the play, and if noone goes, they lose a lot of gold and experience.Majority of Master Yi's won't have much early game presence as he's weak early on and should focus on farming. ![]() A very strong strategy while side laning is to stack up waves with a slow push, and look for a play elsewhere. You want to do the same for top lane.Īs soon as you can, you want to get into a side lane to farm and look for picks. If you have a fed botlane, look for dives, to counter enemy plays, and to further their lead. When it comes to roaming, you need to identify your win condition, and play to it making sure to put all of your resources into it. You can leave one or two minions to get there quicker. Once you have gotten to this point, you are able to start perma-roaming without threat of losing out on CS. The most important thing for Ekko in laning phase is to get to level 7/9 and be able to clear the casters with a single Q. ![]() It is not his job to help you, its your job to help him. Do your best to be the first to fights, and try to set up your jungler. ![]() You want to play around your jungler, because mid lane is the jungler's support, so play your minion wave to match your jungler and try to match your jungler's reset timing. This will force your opponent to stay in lane with an item disadvantage or force them to reset and give up minions, exp, and wave control. A cheater recall is when you slow push the first 2-3 minion waves and then hard shove the 3rd or 4th respectively and then reset. Into easy matchups, cheater recalls can set you up for insane snowballs. You want to decide early whether you are going to shove in early, let them shove to you, or you want to Cheater recall. Ekko Laning phase is weak, and he has a lot of difficult matchups, but if played properly, he can navigate through them to survive and scale. ![]()
